The Colorado Avalanche return home to the Pepsi Arena in Denver, Colorado to face off against the Nashville Predators at 9:00 pm EST. 

Nashville Predator Defense

The Predators started their first game of a six-game road trip with soft defense and goaltending that allowed four goals in one period. They will have to play better if the plan to beat the Avs Thursday night. 

Both Nashville goaltenders have been fantastic so far this season. Anders Linback has been allowing 2.4 goals per game this season, which is ranked fifth in the NHL. Lindnack also has a respectable 2.58 GAA. Pekka Rine has been no slouch either this year with a GAA of 2.13 and a .927 save percentage. 

Colorado Avalanche Offense

Colorado knows they will have to continue their scoring onslaught to beat Nashville. They are averaging 3.2 goals per game on the season and have scored four goals or more in two of their last 3 games. 

The Avalanche’s leading scorer, Matt Duchene, is also leading in assists (25) and points (43).  Journeymen Paul Stastny and Milan Hejuk haven’t been slouches either and have 30 goals between them. Hejduk’s 23 assists is only one more than Stastny while the pair rank third and fourth on the team in that category. 

Matt Duchene is the team’s leading scorer thus far, as he leads the club in virtually every major category. He has lit the lamp 18 times and has 25 helpers on the campaign, totaling 43 points. He also has the most whacks at net with 112 shots on goal.

Don’t forget about Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk, though. These two sharpshooters have 30 goals between them overall, and they have 22 and 23 assists respectively to come in third and fourth on the team in that category. John-Michael Liles has 26 assists, the most on the team
